Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has been cast in the new Star Wars spinoff movie, according to a new report.
According to Variety, the film will be produced by Walt Disney Pictures and will star John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Anthony Daniels, Oscar Nunez, and Domhnalls Gleeson.
The film will also star Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver.
The report claims that the film is expected to open in December 2019.
Disney also has a deal with Disney TV and ABC to produce the film, so it will likely follow the lead of the films Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Rebels, which are set to release in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Star Wars: Star Wars – Episode VIII and Star War: The Final Empire were both filmed in 2017, but both films were later shelved due to the financial downturn of the industry.
Star Trek Beyond is set to be released in 2018.
